The inspiration behind HairLock Pro
As a purple belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, I deeply understand the toll physical sports take on hair. With my super fine hair, standard hair bands simply weren't enough to prevent damage. I used to joke about wearing a swim cap to training, but eventually, I realised there was no existing product to meet this need. That's when I decided to design my own solution.
Evolving the design for everyone
My initial design worked perfectly for my thin hair, protecting the crown and roots. However, through testing with other athletes, both male and female, I quickly learned it wasn't suitable for those with thicker hair, and it wasn't overly feminine. This feedback led to a crucial change: incorporating a hole at the back to allow hair to come out. This ensures the cap protects the crown and roots, safeguarding new growth for all hair types.
